Why was this site created?

As a Physical Education teacher, I found the first few months of the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent quarantine very challenging. It was very tough to come up with unique ways to teach the children in my class, as we did not have synchronous learning and I had no way of knowing what sort of exercises or workouts they were able to do at home.

Over time, I gradually put together some plans and offered up some suggestions, but I’ve spent a good chunk of my summer planning more structured exercises and routines that I can offer that will hopefully allow everyone to participate and get the most of out my class.

While I was thinking about what to do for the upcoming year, I began thinking about all of the other Physical Education teachers who were in the same boat as I was. That’s when I decided to pull something together and create a website that would allow me to bring not only my ideas and suggestions in one place, but also begin adding potential lessons and exercises from other teachers as well.

To that end, I’ve launched PandemicPhysEd.com to give Physical Education teachers around the country a one-stop shop for lessons and ideas for warm-up, exercises, games, and more. My plan is to continue to add to the site throughout the year and beyond, giving my fellow teacher a place to learn more about dealing with these challenging times.
